A builder's field notes on AI, wearing multiple hats: product, tech, design, and business.
Tech has, yet again, disrupted itself, and a whole industry of organizations built around the old model is scrambling to catch up. I write about how AI blends tech, design, product, and operations into one function, and how to craft products that create real value in the era of AI.
I'm a product and engineering leader. I build real products with AI and have seen them get adoption.
I've always been at the intersection of tech and business (including academically). I founded a design tool startup and gained a grounded understanding of how to build and ship software with clean interfaces and delightful UX.
I've always worn multiple hats, and in these rare times my 3 hats of business, tech, and design have collapsed into one: a builder.
These are rare times. I'd love to share my thoughts, build in public, help others build, and help us all learn from each other while harnessing the good side of this tech.
In my view, flint was the medium for the first act of human engineering.
AI is making me (and many tech/product people) feel like we're back at the Stone Age, hitting rocks together to see what works, what's valuable, and what's not.
Flint Works is my lab and public notebook for building AI-powered systems that hold up under real constraints: messy data, deadlines, compliance, and the need for clear ROI.
